Nature can fix your marriage and sex life!

Nature can heal your marriage and sex life according to the excellent new book by Clemens G. Arvay, “The Biophilia Effect“. Now, I’m sure some of you will see this blog post title and wonder if Vas is getting desperate for more blog visitors. But don’t worry, this is a serious blog post based on a new book I highly recommend.

Modern life

The chapter on sex is based on a real-life couple and, as a busy father of two kids, I can relate.  Working as a landscape professional and blogger is hard enough. Then add the constant kid shuttling, weekend soccer games I hate to miss and bi-weekly commercial site weekend servicing and you get the picture. The couple in the book is in the same boat. They collapse in bed at night, exhausted and many months later their marriage starts to slide.

When I put my kids to bed I dream of blogging but wait, my wife wants a back massage. And on  some days that almost seems like a cruel joke.

Nature cure

Are you worried? Well, don’t be because Arvay shows you how nature can heal you. The couple mentioned in the book go to see their therapist who, surprisingly, directs them into nature. Specifically, she wants them to find a secluded spot in the woods where they can’t be observed and there she wants them to experience nature together with all of their senses.

So they do it because they actually know a good, secluded spot in their local forest. They hop on their bikes and ride as far as they can. Then they ditch the bikes and their shoes and they enter the woods. Soon they reach their favourite spot deep in the woods.

Topless

Now it gets interesting. The husband takes his shirt off and gently rubs his back on a nearby tree. Then the wife also takes her top off and proceeds to rub her back on the same tree and their senses are fully engaged.

Now, I know some of you will expect a steamy climax but this is a family blog. Arvay’s book also tastefully avoids any mention of “fire in his loins.” We are told that the couple, presumably still topless, hug each other and the tree in a bizarre nature three-way.

No way

I openly admit to laughing out loud at this point because I was trying to picture my wife topless and barefoot deep in the woods. She looks beautiful topless with her humble Japanese peaks but there’s no way she’s rubbing herself on tree bark. I would pay to see that.

It works!

The couple repeat these expeditions but not too much. Just enough to keep it fresh and interesting. And according the Arvay’s book, the couple fix their marriage and sex life!

So there you have it. Remember the key ideas. Find a secluded nature spot where you can’t be spotted, experience nature with all of your senses, and select a tree suitable for back rubbing!

It’s worth reading the full account in “The biophilia effect”; it was published in February, 2018 and it’s a killer book.
