BC Landscape Academy launches first online course

Dream come true

After working in urban landscapes for 21 years and training many workers, it occurred to me that I could create training materials for new landscapers. So, in 2017 I published four e-books on Amazon and made them available.

Then, I got a better idea. Why not start my own online school? And why not do it at a time when a nasty pandemic is forcing everyone to study online. It made sense.

First course on lawn care

It also made a lot of sense to make the first course on lawn care because that’s what new landscapers have to learn from day one. And lawn care sounds easy until you have to do it safely and efficiently, all week, in all sorts of weather.

I called the first course Lawn Care Mastery: top 5 lawn care mistakes you must avoid and it’s now live at bclandscapeacademy.com. This course examines the five worst mistakes workers make in the field so why not study it online and learn from other people’s mistakes? Check it out.

I believe it’s critical for new landscapers to master lawn care so they can move on to other tasks like pruning. Having new workers go through this course should also save on training time with foremen; and save big headaches when these five mistakes happen. And happen they will because the entire course is built on my field experience and all of the pictures are mine. I shot them in the field.

My offer

This is my offer: new landscapers will benefit from the Lawn Care Mastery course by learning about the top five lawn care mistakes before they have a chance to make them in the field. This should speed up their progress and it could lead to better pay and bigger responsibilities.

Company owners will cut down on expensive but crucial training time in the field for, what I believe, is a small investment. They can also eliminate extra costs associated with the mistakes. Have you replaced a mower shaft recently? It’s not cheap.

Feedback

Feedback is critical and I’m hoping to find some brave souls to send me some feedback so the course can be improved.

2021

I’m planning to add another course on trees very soon; and other courses later in 2021. Please sign up for updates and news by registering at the BC Landscape Academy website.

Have a happy and safe 2021. Be great!!
