June in the landscape photo essay

I love working in the landscape in June. Summer is coming and the landscape is alive with new growth and colours. And if you slow down enough, you might even notice a few intoxicating scents.

So, let’s take a look at my June photo essay, West Coast edition.

Philadelphus x virginalis
I noticed its scent before the flowers. Intoxicating!

Hypericum, not bad for a groundcover.
Ilex crenata
I love these tiny flowers and so do insects.
Astilbe
I don’t much care for water plants but this water feature is stunning!
Prunus lusitanica
Lysimachia nummularia
Creeping Jenny, it will spread if you let it.
Arbutus unedo
Festuca glauca
I love ornamental grasses. They look great, tolerate drought and don’t require much maintenance.

Rosa rugosa
Aesculus hippocastanum
